Obituary for Stephen Michael Cantwell

Stephen Michael Cantwell
Stephen Michael Cantwell was born on May 25, 1962, the 4th child of Carl and Janis Cantwell. He is survived by his parents, Carl Cantwell and Janis Cantwell, siblings Carol Garrison (Russ), Scott Cantwell, Linda Harnden (Donald), David Cantwell (Tonya) and Mark Cantwell (Robin), along with many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Steve suffered many setbacks in his life, some of his own making, but most by chance. He fought a 25+ year battle with Scleroderma and all of its complications, including the diagnosis that he would only live 10 more years. He lost an eye as a teenager helping his uncle build a fence. He faced many personal and private challenges, yet throughout his life, he was a generous spirit, never complaining about his circumstances or ailments. Even during his times of great pain and suffering, he still found the will to emerge from his garage room, trailing his oxygen tube, to bring out some little gift for visitors. A pen, or magnet, tool, or recipe book, all treasures now because they were given by someone who had little to give, yet gave everything he had. We will miss you, Steve. May God keep you in peace and comfort until we meet again.

Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday May 10, 2014 in Jamesville Missionary Baptist Church, 213 Riverview Rd. in Clever, Missouri. For directions, call Robin at 417-839-5420.
