Mom was a very adventurous person. She led a very active life. After graduating High School in Iowa she went off to college in Minnesota. Graduated and stated a job teaching elementary school. She soon answered the call to serve the country and joined the Army. She was stationed in several bases throughout the US. In NY, VA, Texas, and Washington before being shipped to Japan. There she met her husband of 60 years. At a church group decorating Christmas trees. She loved crafts, leather work, sewing, painting, and was really talented at that. She was an auctioneer, sold real estate, and helped special needs children, she raised three boys, several dogs and cats and helped many people throughout her life. She was a very kind and giving person. After her husband’s death she lived at home with her son Paul. Then moved to Texas. She was a very organized and detailed person. Still had perfect handwriting at 90 years old. She was a trailblazer for many women and set a high bar for for integrity and strived to be all that she could be. She is deeply missed.
