Basque Food

Jan has been my mother-in-law since 1991. We were very close and I loved to go visit her when she was living in California. But I liked it more when I could get her to come to Bakersfield. Every time she came to see us the first thing we had to do was go to a Basque restaurant. Most of the time this was easy but there were those times when it might be a holiday or just a very busy time for them. Many times we would be standing in the hallway at Woolgowers waiting and she would ask everyone who walked by "Do you have a table?" If they said yes she would offer them $5 for their table and tell them we would take care of the leftovers.
