El Paso
It was spring break of my freshman year of college. Did I go to the beach? Did I go snow skiing? Oh no, I went to ElPaso to see my little baby Stephanie! Doesn't every 19 year old girl want to go to a border town on spring break! Bobby picked me up in his snazzy El Camino. I was horrified, but quickly got over it, because there was this unbelievably cute 10 month old staring at me. When I got in that red neck vehicle, Stephanie scooted all the way to her daddy, like I was some kind of skunk that got in the car! (This was before seat belts were mandatory, and Lorie & Bob probably couldn't afford a car seat anyway--or they hadn't been invented yet!) She rode the whole way glued to her daddy's side, pushing him into the door, and causing him to put his arm around her. She sure loved her daddy. I guess that never changed. And I guess I kept following her around, visiting wherever she was at--Kansas, Alabama, Texas, Alaska, Mississippi, Missouri. I guess I'll have to go to heaven next. I love you, baby girl.
