William Edward Martinous

William Edward "Ed" Martinous, 81, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away early Sunday morning on March 8, 2026 at Copper Rock Village in Rogersville, Missouri.

He was born July 8, 1944 to Benny and Lucille Martinous. He attended Parkview High School and helped his dad clean carpets in the family business with Martinous Rug Co.

Ed was called into Evangelism and began traveling around the southwest part of Missouri. He married Betty Highfill on May 22, 1964.

He worked for several years at the Coca Cola factory and at Hagale, his cousin's garment factory. He later worked at Assorted Groceries where he was injured and received retirement.

He evangelized for several years and became a pastor to Lighthouse Tabernacle, and for a short time, pastored in Chandler, Arizona, but felt he was called back to evangelism and returned to Springfield, Missouri. He had friends who were first responders and he would go on calls and help as needed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Lucille; his brothers, Ronny Martinous and Tom Martious; and his son, Paul Martionous.

He is survived by his children, Elaine LeRoy and Tim Martinous; and his grandchildren, David LeRoy, Daniel LeRoy, and Branden LeRoy.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on March 11, 2026, at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri 65806. Burill will follow at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
