William F. Bockover, 76, passed away in his home in Springfield, Missouri on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
He was born April 10, 1949 in Washington, Missouri to William R. Bockover and Betty (Bunning) Labelle. He attended Washington High School, class of 1967 and attended Missouri University of Science and Technology for one year. He met his wife in 1977 while she was working with his mother at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri and they were married in 1978.
Mr. Bockover worked as a tool designer at Mueller Tool & Die in St. Louis, Missouri, moving from there to being a tool designer for ITT which became Alumax in St. Louis, Missouri. He moved on from there to work for F M Corporation in Bentonville, Arkansas, then to various jobs for Walmart starting at the Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas and finishing with working for Sam's Club in Springfield, Missouri over almost 25 years. He enjoyed science fiction, most notably Star Trek and Doctor Who. He was a whiz at trivia games and had a wealth of knowledge about so many things. He also liked to do voices and make his co-workers, customers, and especially his family laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Neda Louise Turner; his brother Raymond D. Bockover; his nephew Jeffrey A. Bockover; other aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Janet (Wilmesher) Bockover; his children, Rachel Bockover and Andrew Bockover, as well as neices, nephews, and cousins.
