Velma Kay Robertson, 71, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026.

Born in Trenton, Michigan, on March 27, 1955, Velma lived a life defined by her deep love for her family and her unwavering dedication to helping others.

Velma spent 49 years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), earning a reputation as the absolute best in her field. Her compassion, skill, and tireless work ethic touched the lives of countless patients and families, leaving an unforgettable mark on her community.

Above all else, Velma was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life’s greatest joy was her family. She loved reading, bowling, playing cards, and simply spending time with the people she loved most, creating a legacy of warmth, strength, and unconditional love.

She is survived by her four loving daughters, Kathy Jo Lawson, Jennifer Padilla, Carla Gillespie, and Darlenea Evans. She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Ames, as well as her 15 cherished grandchildren and 26 adored great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A private ceremony for close friends and family will be held this Saturday to honor her incredible memory and the lasting impact she made on the world.
