Teresa Charlene Howard-Wyland, 67, Republic, passed away June 22, 2026, at Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital/Nursing Home.
She was born March 6, 1959, in Springfield, Missouri, to Charles L. and Paula L. (Baron) Howard. She attended St. Agnes Catholic School and Willard School systems. Teresa was her formal name, but all who knew her well called her Tery.
Tery was full of energy and personality most of her life. It was not until the last couple of years, when her health began failing quickly that things changed. But her charm and even her determination held on to the end.
Tery met her love, Gary Wyland, and they were together and married in St. Louis for many years. Their love of the St. Louis Carinals, St. Louis Blues, and the Kansas City Chiefs was very apparent when you saw them.
Tery worked in many medical offices but mostly at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis then retiring from Mercy in the insurance department in 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, her parents, a sister Becky Schonert, two brothers John and Joe Howard, and many other loved family members.
Tery is survived by her sisters, Marcia Howard of Republic, Susan (Ali) Howard of Springfield, and Mary (Shawn) Rowley of Halfway; a brother, Paul (Valerie) Howard of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Renee Howard of Springfield and Dana Howard of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Angel Ramos, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom she loved very much.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Mass on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Springfield, Missouri with Fr. David Hulshof celebrating, with burial following at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will start at 10:00 am, until service time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
