Sandra L. Young, 62, Marshfield MO, passed away at 6:00 pm, Sunday June 8, 2025 in her home surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was born on January 22, 1963 in Marshfield MO to Rex and Betty (Pilkinton) Rowden. She attended several local high schools but ended her high school career in her hometown of Strafford MO.
At the age of 20 Sandy met her life long love, James Young. It was definitely NOT love at first site, but after a flick of a cigarette on his ‘68 Firebird and a dance, James and Sandy had a short courtship of a year. They married on April 7, 1984. Roughly a year later, their first daughter, Bridgett (Young) Taylor was born. Seven years later the real light of the family was born, Lindsey (Young) Kane.
For many years Sandy worked at the local grocery store decorating cakes and baked goods. She loved sharing her love for crafts with her grandkids. She shared her love for flowers with her daughters, however, Bridgett cannot keep a flower alive to save her life. She also loved singing gospel songs with her mom and dad, sister Lisa, and many other loved ones. She enjoyed coaching from the crowd with her brother Tim. In her younger years you could find her cruising the streets with her cousins Cyndi and Dawn. Over the last year, Sandy spent most of her days inside her home praying over her precious grandchildren whom she adored. Sandy will be deeply missed by all her loved ones.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Rex and Betty (Pilkinton) Rowden; Brother, Timothy (Bunk) Rowden.
She is survived by her husband, James Young; her children, Bridgett (Young) Taylor, husband Matt Taylor, Lindsey (Young) Kane and her husband Kevin Kane; Eight grandchildren, Gracie Taylor and Caleb Herron, Chase Taylor, Kaydie Kane, Lizzy Taylor, Kaleb Kane, Adlee Davidson, and Braxton Davidson; sister Lisa (Rowden) Hamilton and husband Denny Hamilton; Niece, Delaney (Hamilton) Yocom and family; Nephew, Cody Rowden and family. And a host of extended family and many friends.
