Ruth Nadine Rupert

Ruth Nadine Rupert, of Bessemer, AL, passed on April 13, 2026, at the age of 96. She was born to the late Frank and Lucille Truesdell on February 24, 1930. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Elston I. Rupert, Sr.; daughter, Henrietta "Ruthie" Shelburn; and brothers, Calvin, Adrian, and Francis Truesdell. She is survived by her sons, Elston I. Rupert, Jr., Ralph V. Rupert and Anthony J. Rupert (Debbie); daughters, Cecilia R. Goodwin (Howard), Mary J. Harris (Jay), Rene Rupert and Gwendolyn J. Barrett (Kevin); 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00-11:30am Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri with Funeral Services beginning at 11:30am in the Lohmeyer Funeral Chapel with Father Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00pm in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road in Springfield, Missouri where her husband Elston Rupert was buried in April of 2020.
