Russell Swearingin, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 20, 1984, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a cherished member of the Swearingin family. He was the son of Russell Swearingin Sr. of Mulberry, Arkansas, and the late Qualynn Pope of Springfield, Missouri.
Russell is deeply mourned by his surviving family, including his father, Russell, and stepmother, Sherry Swearingin; his grandmother, Claudine Keller; his aunt, Sheryl Patterson; his children, especially his pride and joy, Russell Swearingin III; and his siblings, Heather Swanson, Grant Swearingin, Katlin Swearingin, and David Swearingin. His closest friend, Amber Vigor, who was steadfast in her love and support, also shares in the family's grief.
Russell's life was enriched by the love and memories of those who preceded him in death, including his grandfathers, Howard Swearingin and Jim Pope; step-grandfather, Wendell Keller; grandmother, Sue Pope; mother, Qualynn Pope; uncle, Phillip Swearingin; and uncle, Jim Patterson. Their love, guidance, and memories helped shape Russell into the man he became.
Russell's life was a testament to love, dedication, and devotion to his family. He and Amber Vigor worked together to create a loving and nurturing environment for their son, Russell Swearingin III. Russell spent his career working alongside his grandfather, Jim Pope, at Kingsway Trailers, where he was known for his diligence, dedication, and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Russell found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and music was a constant source of joy throughout his life. His warm smile and caring nature brought positivity and comfort to those around him. Above all, Russell took immense pride in his son, often sharing stories of his accomplishments with joy and admiration.
During his final days, Russell was surrounded by the love and presence of those closest to him. Amber was steadfast in her support and helped ensure that Russell could spend his final days surrounded by his loved ones, including his son. The family expresses their profound gratitude to Amber for her unwavering care, love, and support during this difficult time.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Russell's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Russell's memory to a charity of your choice.
Russell will forever be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
