Rose Marie Roush, 79, Springfield, Missouri, passed away at 3:04 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born on March 16, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to Lawrence E. Roush and Julia Roush. She had three older brothers: Larry, Clark, and John. Ms. Roush attended Holy Family grade school and high school in North Denver, graduating with the class of 1964. She pursued a course of advanced study at the former Parks School of Business in Denver, Colorado and graduated in 1974.

Ms. Roush worked at the former Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator and then supervisor. She briefly worked as a title closing agent. Ms. Roush then transitioned to working as a legal secretary at various Denver area law firms, including Holland & Hart LLP from which she retired in 1990. During the course of her career, Ms. Roush helped raise and support 5 nieces and nephews born to her brother John Roush and served as caregiver to her parents, Lawrence E. Roush and Julia Roush. She was a passionate gardener and bird watcher, growing test varieties of roses for a national plant supplier for several years and transforming her gardens into urban oases.

On March 17, 1990, Ms. Roush married Colorado dryland wheat farmer Robert W. Tscheschke of Byers, Colorado. She transitioned to the life of a homemaker and farm wife. During her time in the countryside, Ms. Roush enjoyed the wildlife and natural beauty of Eastern Colorado, including the local deer population and prairie sunsets. She and her husband divorced after many years of marriage, and Ms. Roush resumed her maiden name. Ms. Roush lived in Englewood, Colorado and then Littleton, Colorado with her son, David R. Tscheschke. Ms. Roush relocated to Springfield, Missouri to live in the same home with her son and daughter-in-law, Samaria Tscheschke.

Ms. Roush was preceded in death by her mother and father, Julia Roush and Lawrence E. Roush as well as brothers Larry Roush and John Roush. She is survived by her ex-husband, Robert W. Tscheschke, children David R. Tscheschke and Nicole M. Flanagan (Tscheschke), daughter-in-law Samaria Tscheschke, and brother Clark Roush.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield MO 65806, followed by a rosary from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025 at St. Agnes Cathedral: 533 S. Jefferson Avenue, Springfield, MO 65806 with Fr. Lewis Hejna celebrating the Mass.

Graveside services will immediately follow the funeral Mass at Resurrection Cemetery: 4677 W. Division St, Springfield, MO 65802.

Reception to follow internment at 12:30 p.m. at Big Whiskey’s Restaurant (Battlefield location): 1550 E. Battlefield Rd, Springfield, MO 65804.
