Noreene Marie Wooldridge passed away at 12:40 am Wednesday morning October 29th, 2025, at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born in Mercedes, Texas on May 20, 1933, To Raymond H (Pete) Nuwer and Agnes Mary Hock Nuwer. She attended Grade School in Santa Maria, Texas and High School in Mercedes, Texas.
Her family moved to Alton, Missouri in 1951. In October of the same year she moved to Springfield, Missouri to attend Draughon's Business College and obtained a degree in business.
In 1953 she started working at Citizens Bank, now known as Commerce Bank. She was part of the bookkeeping department and eventually became head of the department. She helped many people throughout her many years of loyal service with their checking accounts and helping them to balance their accounts. She eventually retired in 1997 with outstanding attendance and service.
Noreene married Edward Ray Wooldridge on January 16, 1960. In 1961 she had her first son James Craig Wooldridge, but died after birth. In 1964 she had another son, John Allen Wooldridge.
Noreene enjoyed her close friends, and her many hobbies, especially working in her garden and baking, and later volunteering at Mercy hospital and in the office at St. Agnes Cathedral.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, younger brother John R Nuwer and her parents.
She is survived by her brother Allen J Nuwer, and son John A Wooldridge and daughter-in-law Maria Victoria Wooldridge, and sister-in-law Carol Nuwer, wife of John R Nuwer. Along with many distant relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-6:00pm on Monday Evening, November 3, 2025 at the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:00pm.
Noreene's Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at St. Agnes Cathedral, 535 S. Jefferson Avenue in Springfield, Missouri with Father Lewis Hejna officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
