Nancy Virginia Hurt, age 75, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on November 9, 2025.

Nancy was born and raised in Springfield, graduating from Central High School in 1968 and later earning her degree from Springfield Draughon Business University in 1970. She carried her education into a long and varied career, working as a secretary at a law firm, in manufacturing at Zenith Electronics and Omega 2, in customer service for ABC Pictures, and in accounting for EDCO/ABI until her retirement in 2016.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Catherine Mondy and James Elmo Mondy; her brother, James E. Mondy; and her husbands, Mike Tyler and James M. Hurt.

She is survived by her three children: Kevin Michael Tyler, Kimberly Dawn Hensley, and Kristopher J. Bradley Hurt. She leaves behind four grandchildren—Kevin Tyler Jr., Lenard Kristian Tyler, Acie Charles Hensley, and Arianna Catherine Hensley—as well as two great-grandchildren, Eli (8) and Noah (11). She is also survived by her sister, Marcia Presley.

Nancy lived a life filled with creativity, warmth, and adventure. She loved to cook, sew, camp, and travel, and she had a special fondness for casino slot machines, dachshunds, and bargain shopping. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Assembly of God, 1320 S. Oak Grove Ave., Springfield, MO 65804. Graveside services will be held at a later date at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802.

Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
