Michael James Dean

Michael James Dean, 72, of Republic, Missouri, passed away on March 31, 2026.

He was born on November 25, 1953, in Oakland, California. Mike Dean proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy, a commitment that reflected his dedication and sense of duty.

He is survived by his children, Ryan Dean, Christian Dean, Michele Kruse (Dean), and Mackenzie Lynde (Dean), and his five grandchildren, Kyle, Aaliyah, Alexander, Desmond, and Madison. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Dean. He was preceded in death by his parents, Desmond P. Dean and Flo Ann Dean.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, Springfield, MO, with Pastor Phillip Wright officiating.

A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood, Springfield, MO.

He will be remembered for his service and for the role he played in the lives of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed; may he rest in peace.
