Mary Peoples

Mary Ellen Peoples, 88, of Springfield passed away at 3:37 a.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006 in Maranatha Manor.

Mary Ellen was born Dec. 24, 1917 in Antlers, Oklahoma to William and Maggie (Bloyd) Van Hooser. She owned and operated a beauty shop for many years before retirement. Mrs. Peoples was a very proper lady and will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her beloved husband, Rev. Cephas Peoples and a granddaughter. She is survived by her son, Kerry Peoples of Windsor, Colorado, her five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Chaplains Robert Smiley and Darryl Paddock officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m until 5 p.m. today in the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.hhlohmeyer.com.
