Mark Eugene McCarty

Mark Eugene McCarty, age 64, of Fair Grove, Missouri, passed from this life on February 7, 2026. He was born on June 18, 1961, in Niangua, Missouri, the son of Basil Eugene McCarty and Peggy Jane (Hocker) Bogle.

Mark was the proud father of three sons: Jarod, Derek, and Kevin McCarty. For over 20 years, he was a faithful and devoted companion to Lysa Castillo. During that time, he also became a loving father figure to Larissa, Tori, and Kyle. Together, they enjoyed the simple farm life, raising animals and spending time in nature. Mark and Lysa also volunteered countless hours with the Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society, serving their community with dedication.

Mark never knew a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. His generous spirit led him to support many charitable causes, including Gathering Friends for the Homeless, founded by Rev. Edward Rittenhouse.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Jane; his son, Kevin; and his loving partner, Lysa.

Mark is survived by his sons, Jarod and his wife Jamie and their children; Derek and his wife Brooke and their children; Lysa’s children, Larissa, Tori, and Kyle; his brother, Kim McCarty; his aunts, Linda Young and Patsy Todd; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 am until noon Friday, February 13, 2026, at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut Springfield, MO 65806. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Payne Cemetery in Polk County, Missouri under the care and direction of Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Rev. Edward Rittenhouse will officiate the funeral service.
