Mark Eugene McCarty

Mark Eugene McCarty, age 64 of Fairgrove, Missouri passed from this life on February 7, 2026. He was born June 18, 1961, in Niangua, Missouri, the son of Basil Eugene McCarty and Peggy Jane (Hocker) Bogle.

Mark was the father to three sons Jarod, Derek, and Kevin McCarty. Mark was a faithful companion to Lysa Castillo for over 20 years. Becoming a father figure to Larissa, Tori, and Kyle. Together they lived a simple farm life, raising lots of animals and enjoying nature together. They also volunteered countless hours for the Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society.

Mark never knew a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. His generosity extended beyond the people he knew, as he consistently contributed to numerous charitable organizations.

He was preceded in death by his parents Basil and Peggy, his son Kevin, and his loving companion Lysa.

He is survived by his sons Jarod and Derek, their wives, and children. Lysa's children, Larissa, Tori, and Kyle and many grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 am until noon Friday, February 13, 2026, at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut Springfield, MO 65806. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Payne Cemetery in Polk County, Missouri under the care and direction of Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
