Marie Moore

Carolyn Moore Born May 2, 1928 died March 9, 2013. She is survived by her Sisters Kay Diederich, and Carol Ebrite, children: John W. Moore his wife Roxanne and sons Nathan and Nicholas, Alex Channing, David M. Moore and his wife Mary, Patrick E. Moore and his wife Tracy, and Kathy Pettus who she considered as a daughter.
Known to everyone by her middle name Carolyn, she spent time in her youth riding and showing horses. Her journey through life found her graduating College at Loyola Marymount then during the Korean War she was a WAC supporting the U. S. Army at the equivalent rank as Sergeant Major where she met Vernon K. Moore of the U.S. Marine Corps who after some time she married and had four sons.
Her next step on a wonder path in life she went back to school to get her teaching certificate. She taught Junior High at Hickory Hills in the R-12 School District in Springfield Mo. Her primary subject were English, History, Geography and Speech. During her tenure she again went back to school to earn her Master of Education degree at Dury College in Springfield Mo. As a teacher her greatest joy was helping children realize their potential and understand the value of English to be able to translate thoughts in your head to intelligent coherent sentences that inform, educate or entertain the reader. And How History is important because it is who we were yesterday that sets the stage for what we will become tomorrow. Geography another passion because of all the traveling she did before she became a teacher but also during. After her retirement she was able to make trips all over the world to satisfy her hunger for adventure and excitement ;earning first hand for the many different cultures. As a speech teacher she was ambitious putting on several plays from Gilbert and Sullivan to Carolyn Moore as she would write her own because there were very few for Junior High students,
And avid fisher person and armature sailor she loved the water and outdoors. Because of the peace and quiet she could enjoy to follow her true passion of reading books from SIFI Fantasy to History it didn't matter if there were words printed on the page she would read them.
Before long her ambition started to grow to keep boredom away, she combined her creativity with her love for jewelry and she started designing her own rings, necklaces, ear rings and Rosaries. She did this several years until Arthritis being cruel took away her ability to work with small tools and stones. this brought her a great deal of sadness and disappointment because she truly enjoyed the work and feeling useful again.
A member of St. Agnes Parish she spent a great deal of time helping in every way she could from singing in the choir when she could to making things for the bizarre. A prayerful woman who was devoted to the rosary, her faith carried her through many trying times from the loss of her brother in the veitnam War to the constant worry for her son Patrick who retired from the Naval Service in 2009. Her faith in god never surrendered just like her will to fight. Yes, she was always the fighter starting out in life fighting through Polio through various surgeries, a massive heart failure. Carolyn was always the person who didn't know how to give up and quit. All the way till the end she battle and now God has opened his door to welcomed her home saying your battle is over my child your are home.
