Lynae Faye Howell

Lynae Faye Howell, 34, of Springfield, Missouri passed away in her home on November 27 th , 2025.

Lynae was born in Los Angeles CA on October 17th, 1991. Lynae was born with Angelman syndrome and cerebral palsy, and despite being nonverbal, her gorgeous eyes and face communicated everything. She was adopted by Donna Howell and eventually relocated from California to Missouri in her 20s. Lynae moved into a house with a roommate supported by Easy Living staff in 2014. Lynae loved spending time with her roommate and bestie Jennifer. They spent countless hours laughing together on their many adventures feeding the animals at Wild Animal Safari, enjoying Wonders of Wildlife, going to Easy Living activities, looking at Christmas lights together, etc. Lynae also enjoyed spending time with one of her other great friends, Katie. They loved going to Andys for ice cream, spending time together at the park, feeding the animals at Wild Animal Safari (and laughing at their staff who were terrified), enjoying Wonders of Wildlife, and going swimming together.

Lynae put up a good fight for three months, but her body could not hold on any longer. Lynae passed away November 27th, 2025, in her home she shared with her sister. Lynae was 34 years old. Lynae will be deeply missed by all who knew her as she was so loved!

Lynae is survived by her mom Donna Howell, sister Robin Hood (husband Tim), brother Andy Howell, brother Jason Howell (wife Christine), brother Alan Howell, co-guardian/bonus mom Jill Sorensen, bonus dad Mike Sorensen, bonus sister Taylor Sorensen, bonus brother Trevor Sorensen, and many nieces and nephews. Lynae was preceded in death by her brother Jonathan Howell. Lynae also leaves behind countless staff who were like family.

There will be a memorial visitation for Lynae at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22, 2026, 4pm - 7pm. Please join us for some ice cream (Lynae’s favorite) and remember our beautiful angel.
