Lola Alvina Franklin

Lola Alvina [Carr] Franklin passed from this life on August 21, 2026 into the presence of the Lord, Whom she served all her life.

She was born to Claud Clarence Carr and Alvina Louise [Thorman] Carr on October 16, 1925 in Kaw City, Oklahoma.

During the Dust Bowl years of 1930-1940, Lola and her family moved to different farms around Okmulgee, OK and Ark City, KS. For several years, their family lived in small towns so their father could work at local factories. Later, their family returned to full-time farming.

Lola graduated from Ark City High School in the spring of 1943, when World War 2 was in full operation. She entered the retail work force employed by JC Penney stores. One year later, she moved to Ottawa, KS to assist in the war effort, working at the local Tent and Awning factory.

In 1945, Lola entered Central Bible College in Springfield, MO where she pursued biblical studies. One year later she met Donald Franklin who also attended Central Bible College. They were married on her 22nd birthday on October 16, 1947.

After moving to southern California and Don graduating from Chiropractic College, two sons were born, with the family settling in Garden Grove, CA.

After moving to Lawton, OK they entered full-time ministry. Later they moved to Dallas, TX; Springfield, MO; Battle Creek, MI; Kansas City, MO; Houston, TX; Harrison, MI; Eagle Rock, MO then retired in Springfield, MO.

Lola was an avid traveler, making trips across America with Don to visit friends, family and enjoy the sights. She always considered Springfield her home and decided to retire there.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald Franklin and her sister Ruth [Richard] Pettis.

She is survived by her 2 sons; Steve [Julie] Franklin and David Franklin, Becky Franklin

10 grandchildren; Sally Franklin, Mary Rugh, Ashley [Coty] Green, Victoria Arbour, Olivia [Trenton] LaVergne, Charity [Tyler] Waddington, Starr [Sean] Borroughs, Ben Franklin, Tyler [Sarah] Franklin, and John [Erin] Franklin.

23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother Owen [Norma Lee] Carr
