Larry Foss 1st, a retired Vietnam Veteran 1968-1970, a cop for the Florissant Police Department 1972-1977, and a retired Fireman and Paramedic from the Florissant Valley Fire Department 1977-1994 passed away in Springfield, MO. April 11th, 2026 at Cox South, Springfield, MO.
Larry is proceeded in death by his parents Roy and Myrtle Foss, his beloved wife of 50 years Judy Foss, and his sister Janet Alexander. He is survived by his Kids Tonia, Heidi, and Larry Foss 2nd. His grandkids Julina Foss, Aaron Ellis, Christian Foss-Boyd (Ellie), and Jessica Shields. His Great grand kids Addyson Caldwell and Raine Shields. His siblings John Foss (Mary) and Roy Foss (Lettie).
Larry Was born in Carthage, Missouri on October 19th, 1948. He attended college at Missouri Southern State University. Working 3 jobs to provide for his family was a huge part in his life. One of our most favorite things he use to always say was "call me anything, just don't call me late for supper".
Larry enjoyed spending time listening to music, playing Yahtzee, spending time with family, sitting out side enjoying the fresh air and the wild life, playing poker with his poker buddies, and going on car rides. Larry's smile could light up a room. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. His humor and jokes will live on threw anyone that new him. Its not always good bye its a when I see you in heaven.
Services for Larry will be held on Monday, April 20th, 2026 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, starting with a Visitation at 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. After the Funeral Service, we will then make our way to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery: 5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804, for the Interment at 1:00 pm where Full Military Honors will be rendered.
