Jimmy Woods

Jimmy Leon Woods, known to his many loved ones as Pete, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Always a fighter, Pete never failed to show the toughness, humor, and kindness that made him so special.
Pete was born on August 10, 1945 to Barbara and James Woods in Ridgedale, Missouri. After growing up around the southwest Missouri area, Pete joined the army and served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning from his service, Pete pursued his interest in auto mechanics and retired from his job with the City of Springfield in 1999.
Pete is survived by his wife Kay, his daughters Barbara and Christina, his stepchildren Brian and Amanda, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield on Thursday, March 7.
