James Robert Sprague

May 6, 1947 – August 26, 2025

Beloved husband of Leann, dear father of Sandy (Gene) McColm, Pam (Peter) Schmitt, dear grandpa of Connor McColm and Sydney Schmitt. Dear son of Hallie Wendell and Betty Carol Sprague who preceded him in death. Dear brother of Bill Sprague, Bob Wilson, and the late Lee Sprague.

Jim was an Air Force veteran who honorably served his county during the Vietnam war. He was based in the Philippines at Clark Air Force base for one year finishing at Ellesworth Air Force base in South Dakota.

Jim’s fifty plus years in the trucking industry exemplified hard work and dedication. He and Leann, as team truckers for 35 years, traveled millions of miles across the US for clients such as the Department of Defense, Boeing, FedEx, and most recently SpaceX. He was involved in a variety of businesses, however the majority of his career was spent in the trucking industry.

He was a passionate car and truck enthusiast and very talented mechanic. He started as a young boy tinkering on cars with his brother and as an adult had many special cars and trucks he loved. Jim could fix just about anything. He was very generous with his time and knowledge helping many people throughout the years solving mechanical issues.

Jim loved his family first and foremost, his pets and country. He will be deeply missed.
