Helen Marie Reid

Helen Marie Reid, of Strafford, MO, was born on December 17, 1939, in Springfield, MO, to Joseph and Marie Berg. She departed this life on March 9, 2026, at the age of 86.

Helen was united in marriage to Ronald Lee Reid, and to this union their daughter, Debbie, was born.

Helen was a homemaker and also worked as a lab technician at 3M. She loved to sew and was a master at making beautiful dresses, men’s suits, and bedding. She also enjoyed knitting blankets, hats, and scarves. Helen loved puzzles and created many framed puzzle pictures with her family.

She enjoyed cooking family recipes from her mother and mother-in-law, keeping family traditions alive. When Ronnie was alive, they loved traveling in their camper and spent many winters in warmer places. They also spent many hours fishing together at the lake.

Most of all, Helen loved her granddaughters and great-grandbabies. She was also a devoted Elvis fan and spent many hours listening to his music and watching his films.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Berg, and her husband, Ronald Reid.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Beasley, and her husband, Danny, of Strafford, MO; her sister, Mary Lambeth, of St. Louis, MO; two granddaughters, Autumn Wood of Nixa, MO, and Ashley Austin and her husband, Brandon, of Springfield, MO; a step-granddaughter, Kassy Wamsley and her husband, Jordan, of Republic, MO; and seven great-grandchildren: Grant Hicks, Ava Sutherland, Riley Austin, Sophia Bloom, Tanner Hicks, Addison Wood, and Sadie Austin.

Visitation will be held at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St., Springfield, MO, on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 PM.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM, in the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Springfield.

Following the services, food will be served at the home of Danny and Debbie Beasley.
