Genesis Evelyn Marie Crook was born April 4th, 2024, in Independence, Missouri to Nikia Hicks and Jerry Crook. Genesis departed this life on July 17th, 2026. She was 2 years old and she is in her resting place with our Heavenly Father.

Even though Genesis was only here for a short time, she impacted the lives of many people. She was loved unconditionally by her mother and father and her loving grandmother, Marsha Marie Crook. Genesis was deeply loved by Evelyn Hodges, Christopher Vinson, Willie and Jaqueline Doolittle, and Lula Washington. She was also loved by her nurses and the church that her mother attended.

She is also survived by her two sisters, Zion Crook and J'Kia Baxter, two stepbrothers, and a host of aunts and cousins who love her very much.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorothy Hicks, great grandmother, Eula Bundage, uncle Easton Lane, aunt Davetta Hicks, and cousin Andrew Grant.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Genesis Evelyn Marie Crook will be held on Friday, August 14th, 2026, at 11:30 am at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, located at 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering the precious moments and the love Genesis brought into the world.
