Rev. Frederick David Rosenkrans, age 81,of Springfield Missouri, passed away at 6:30pm on Thursday, April 9th, 2026 at home with his family. He was born on September 26,1944, in O’Neill, NE to Roger and Marjorie Lindberg Rosenkrans. He was raised on a farm near Dorsey, NE. He attended one-room country schools Kindergarten-8th grade, and graduated from O’Neill High School in 1962. He enrolled at Evangel College in the Fall of 1963, and was diagnosed with diabetes during his first semester, after which he returned home. In January 1965, he returned to Springfield to attend Central Bible Institute and Seminary, graduating in May of 1968. He was ordained in Grand Island Nebraska in 1971.

He married Sandra Banks on August 1st, 1969 in Vineland, NJ. They welcomed 3 children to this union.

He served as Associate Pastor in Beatrice, NE with his uncle, Rev. Ernest Rosenkrans for one year. He accepted the pastorate in Lyons, NE in June 1969. In December of 1971, he became the pastor in Pender, NE. In 1976, they moved to Eldora, Iowa to First Assembly of God Church, where he pastored for 32 years. During their years at Eldora, they fostered 11 children, and adopted two, Shannon and Shawn, in 1984.

He was always a bi-vocational pastor to help support his ministry. He opened a printing business where he did printing jobs for area churches for their special events. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service where he planted trees and was a surveyor. He was founder of Rosenkrans Book and Bible which he operated for 27 years, providing discounted books and Bibles to many missionaries, pastors and general public.

He was a member of Battlefield Assembly of God, where he served as Adult Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Elder Board. His interests included Nebraska Football, gardening, remodeling houses, doing book sales at District events, churches and A/G colleges, garage sales, and playing a multitude of board and card games with family and friends. He was Garden Leader at the Weller Community Garden and was involved in the Weller Food Distribution for many years until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Lynn Rosenkrans, Dolores (Don) Smeeton, Jerry Rosenkrans, and son Shawn Rosenkrans. He’s survived by his wife of 56 years, sister Marion Green, sister-in-law Norma Pickering, children: Yvonne Galloway, Jesse Galloway, David Rosenkrans, Shannon (Earl) Capps, and Mark Rosenkrans, grandchildren: Joseph Rios, Jr., Coral (Jamie) Warren, Ariana Rios, Tyler (Viviana) Wheeler, Cooper Galloway, Lylah Galloway, and numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be at Lohmeyer Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16th, 6-8pm, and at 10am Friday prior to the funeral at 11:00am at Central Assembly of God with Rev. Richard Orrell officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 East Walnut Street, Springfield, MO. Graveside services will be at a later date at the Dorsey Cemetery in Dorsey, NE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gideons International, Teen Challenge or Weller Community Garden.
