F. Darlene Showalter

Frances Darlene (Flinn) Showalter, age 94, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Darlene was born in Randall, Kansas, on April 14, 1931, to Chester and Violet Flinn. She graduated from Randall High School and moved to the Kansas City area. She married Howard Showalter on September 23, 1950. They lived in the Kansas City area for many years, raising their two sons. After retirement, they spent some time traveling the US in their motor home before settling in Springfield, Missouri. After Howard’s death, Darlene moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters (Mary Bergstrom, Doris Damrell & Joyce Abram). Darlene is survived by her sons, Cliff (Jane) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Curt (Becky) of Lincoln, Nebraska, five grandchildren - Kara Showalter, Jarod Showalter, Amanda (Chris) Schroeder, Mike (Holly) Showalter, Matt (Sarah Wagelie) Showalter, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A family service will be held at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri, on Monday, September 22.
