Charles (Chuck) Bradford Stark, age 74, of Summersville, MO, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025 surrounded by family.
Born on April 22, 1951 in St. Louis, MO, Chuck lived his life close to the land. A true man of the earth, he found his greatest joy in the outdoors — whether tracking game through the timber, casting a line into a quiet stream, or simply tending a fire under the stars. He was happiest with the smell of pine on the air and the sound of the wind through the trees.
Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and trusted friend, known for his strong hands, loving heart, and deep respect for nature. He shared his love of hunting and fishing with all who knew him, teaching lessons of patience, resilience, and reverence for the earth.
He is survived by his wife Janice, children Calvin, Anna, and Charles, granddaughter Lily, mother Mary Stark, sisters Brenda Pitts and Kay Beason, and many nieces and nephews, aunts, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Matthew Stark, brother Earnie Stark, and sister Glenda Belew.
Though the trail has ended here, Chuck’s spirit will live on in the woods he loved, the waters he fished, and the family and friends who will carry his stories around campfires for years to come.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Montauk State Park. In honor of Chuck, the family encourages friends to spend time outdoors, breathe deeply of the woodland air, and remember the simple beauty of the natural world.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
