Carrie E. Watkins, 67, of Springfield passed away at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, January 04, 2026, in Springfield, MO at her home.
She was born on 05/16/1958 in Augusta, Maine to Helen and Richard Quirion. She attended Columbia River High School in Vancouver, WA class of 1976.
Carrie was a Veteran, enlisting in 1980 in the United States Air Force. She made a career out of it, serving over 20 years as a Radio Communications Systems Craftsman. She received numerous awards and decorations throughout her career.
She was very active in Veterans Organizations, serving as the Financial Officer at American Legion Post 69, and The Chef De Gare for the 40&8 Kickapoo Voiture 760. She had many hobbies, from fishing for Trout at Bennett Springs to Pulling big Hits, opening sports cards at Fastbreak Sports or Winning big on spur of the moment casino trips. Her biggest and most passionate love was being a grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Helen, her brothers Larry and Dickey, her sister Ingrid, and her brother-in-law Mauri.
She is survived by her husband Pete, her sons Brian and Matt, her daughter-in-law Ashley, her 2 grandchildren Noel and Rowan, nephew Scott (Leah), great nephews Braden and Taschler, and nieces Laura and Tessa.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on January 12, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery 5201 South Southwood Rd, Springfield, Mo, following the graveside service, there will be a get together at her house. A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 69 at a later date.
