Benjamin Phillip Lohmeyer, 87, peacefully passed away in Springfield, MO, on Thursday July 17, 2025.
Ben was born on June 22, 1938. He was the oldest of four children to Ben and Pauline (Polly) Lohmeyer. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
After graduation from Washington High School, he joined the Army. When Ben returned from the military he met and married the love of his life, Joan (Roettering) Lohmeyer. Together they raised three children, Suzie, Scott and Stacy. They were married for 36 years.
Ben enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, visiting the casinos, watching NASCAR, and watching/reading anything about cars. He had a unique talent to see a plane or a car and be able to tell you every detail about it.
He will be remembered for his sweet and easy-going personality, and his wonderful smile.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Joan, parents Ben and Polly Lohmeyer, siblings Virginia Brinkmann and Paul Lohmeyer.
Surviving Ben are his children Suzie McClendon (Ronnie), Scott Lohmeyer (Kris), Stacy Littlejohn (Michael); grandchildren Ashley Poteet (Chance), Tyler Hernandez, Johanna Higgins (Hunter) great grandchildren Sawyer Poteet, Atticus Higgins and Amelia Poteet, sibling Pauline Katzung, many nieces and nephews; and long-time companion Dee White.
