Obituary for Wretha Mae Morgan (Jones)
Wretha Mae “Jones” Morgan, 89, Springfield, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 15, 2021. Wretha was born September 17, 1931 in Nixa, MO to William “Zeke” Jones and Mae Blakey Jones.
Wretha was preceded in death by her parents, (brother) Robert L. Jones, and (husband) Arthur O’Bannon. Wretha was a homemaker whose first love were her many dogs throughout the years (Mitzi, Lacy, Molly). She enjoyed celebrating holidays with family and was the best dessert/pie maker. Wretha had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her yard and the many varieties of flowers and plants. She was also an avid Lady Bears fan over the years. Wretha had been a member of Golden Ave Baptist Church.
She is survived by sisters, Betty Jensen (Alan) of Dover, Delaware, Loretta Fender (Mike) of Springfield, MO, brothers, Frank Jones (Peggy) of Galena, MO, Bill Jones and Jerry Jones both of Springfield, MO. She also leaves behind numerous loved nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm Thursday May 20, 2021 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Thursday May 20, 2021 in Springfield National Cemetery 1702 E. Seminole with Pastor John English officiating.
