Obituary for William H "Bill" Brayman

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of William “Bill ” Brayman 66, of Republic, MO, a marathon enthusiast, loyal Nebraska Cornhusker fan, US Navy veteran, retired US Postal Service Postmaster, and parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Billings. Bill left us on July 26, 2023, after a valiant battle with a neuro-degenerative condition.

Bill was a man of Christ who lived out his Catholic Faith by recognizing the dignity of all people and putting others first. He worked hard all his life and always found time to be a loving husband, attentive father, and active community member by serving as a trustee on various non-profit boards. He was an amazing man who led an extraordinary life; he was beloved by everyone who ever met him; and was the most enduring and loving father, grandfather, husband, uncle, brother, colleague, and friend. No matter the circumstance, Bill made sure people knew how valued and loved they were.

The beloved son of the late Francis Louise Brayman, Bill was the most loving husband to Kimberly “Kim” Brayman, and most devoted father, mentor, and life coach to Heather Rucker (Brian) and Kristina Brayman (Andrew Schaefer). Bill was a proud grandfather to 4 grandsons who brought him much joy and happiness. He provided all the love, comfort, hospitality, humor, and stability a family could ask for.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Bill graduated from Lincoln High School, and the University of Lincoln with a bachelor and master in business administration. In his own words his “greatest accomplishments” was marrying the love of his life, his daughters, being the first in his family to graduate from college and running an impressive 38 marathons.

Bill will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched, but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the Parkinson's Group of the Ozarks https://www.parkinsonsgroup.org/

Family and friends of Bill are respectfully invited to attend the wake on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 6:00-7:00pm, with the Vigil to begin 7 p.m. at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home located at 500 E Walnut St, Springfield, MO 65806. The Mass for Bill will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 320 NW Washington Ave, Billings, MO 65610 on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, beginning at 10:00 am, with Most Reverend Father Edward M Rice officiating.

A graveside service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512 on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 10:30 am.
