Obituary for Thomas William "Tom" Gage

Thomas William Gage, 95, of Springfield Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 15th, 2022.

He was born September 16th, 1926, St. Louis Missouri, the son of Charles and Margaret (Deehan) Gage.

Tom served in the US Navy during WWII and worked for Frisco Railroad until he retired. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting, traveling, and loved playing cards especially rummy, pinochle, and poker. Tom was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Agnes Cathedral for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise G. Gage; his daughter Ruth Gage and his five siblings Charles, Ray, Eleanor, Marion “Pat”, and Dorothy.

Thomas is survived by three children: Edward Gage, Ann Farrar (Jim), John Gage (Tracey); seven grandchildren, David Copeland, Jeff Copeland (Melissa), Erik Slantinsky (Melissa), Emily Gage, Kiley Gage, Jeremy and Christopher Farrar; 11 great grandchildren, Thomas Copeland, Jack, Caroline and Elsie Hedrick, Natalie, Kyleigh, Liam Osburne, Claire, Isabel, James and Silas Farrar; one brother David Gage; one sister Rosalie Manz and other family members and friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 in St. Agnes Cathedral 533 S. Jefferson Springfield, Missouri with Fr. Lewis Hejna celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am with recitation of the Rosary at 10 am Wednesday prior to the Mass in the church.
