Obituary for Tammy Elizabeth Hartman

Tammy Elizabeth Hartman went to be with Jesus on January 23, 2022 after a long illness and recent battle with Covid at Mercy Hospital Springfield.

Tammy Elizabeth Staton, 54 years old was born at St. John’s Hospital on December 23, 1967 and brought to her momma in a big red Christmas stocking which the family still has today. She passed away in the same hospital in which she was born.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Sue Staton, sister Martha Lynn Ganaden, her father James Franklin Staton, maternal grandparents Leon and Libby Dormaier, paternal grandparents Bill and Florence Barton and
William Staton.

Tammy is survived by her nieces Haylee Staton, Brittney Ganaden, great niece Paige Lynn Staton, step-mom, step-sister and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tammy earned her G.E.D. in 2004 and worked as a housekeeper before she became disabled. She was a caregiver to those around her including her grandmother who suffered from Alzheimer's disease; her mom and her sister when they became ill. Tammy also took on care of her niece Haylee when the girl’s mom passed away. Brittney was cared for by her father.

Tammy loved to camp and fish, the Saint Louis Rams, the Tasmanian Devil, wolves, dogs and her new found love of hummingbirds after seeing how much her aunt Mary loved them. She loved her nieces Brittney and Haylee and her
great niece Paige Lynn whom she loved to FaceTime with.

She will be missed by many including her stepmother, stepsister, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at Greenlawn North Cemetery Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at 10:00am. All are welcome to attend. The family asks that you wear red to honor Tammy’s memory as this was her favorite color.
