Obituary for Stephen Fred Kuzma Jr.
Stephen Fred Kuzma, Jr., age 97, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born on April 18, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Stephen Kuzma, Sr. and Susan (Catcher) Kuzma.
Stephen was a Division Superintendant for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Springfield. He was an avid golfer at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Susan Kuzma; his wife; Estelle Martha Kuzma on Dec. 20, 1989; his daughter; Susan Barrett on June 5, 2011; his three sisters, Margaret Farley, Dorothy Massie and Florence Zatorski.
He is survived by his son; Stephen Michael Kuzma; and two grandchildren, Kelly Barrett and Scott Barrett.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00pm Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri where a Rosary will be said at 6:00pm.
Stephen’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am, Monday, November 7, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3555 S. Fremont Avenue in Springfield, Missouri with Msgr. Thomas Reidy officiating. Burial will follow at Noon in the Springfield National Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be rendered.
