Sister Jeanne Charlotte Johnson, V.H.M., 95, died in the Holy Family Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor of Philadelphia on Friday, May 8, 2020. Sister Jeanne was born Jean Louise Johnson in Springfield, Missouri, to William Wood and Irene Nora (Everett) Johnson on March 26, 1925. Sister Jeanne entered the Sisters of the Visitation at Elfindale on September 8, 1946, and was professed on April 22, 1948. In 1978, she and the remaining nuns moved to the Visitation Sisters Retreat House in Federal Way, Washington. That retreat house closed in 1993, and Sister Jeanne transferred to the Visitation Monastery in Philadelphia. For the past five years she has been a resident of Holy Family Home. On April 22, 2018, family and friends gathered with Sister Jeanne to celebrate her 70th anniversary of her profession.
