Obituary for Shirley Joe Ann Thomas
Shirley Joe Ann Thomas, age 92, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023. She was born June 23rd, 1931, in Springfield, MO to Joseph & Nelda Gaston.
Shirley got married to her high school sweetheart, Bill G. Thomas, on October 21st, 1951, who preceded her in death. Bill and Shirley owned and operated Thomas and Sons RV until their retirement.
Shirley was a loving mother and is survived by her six children, Mike Thomas, Rick Thomas, Shari Parrish, Mark Thomas, Carol Gaddie and Chris Thomas. She was a proud grandmother to Shawn Thomas, Chasity Mooneyham, Debbie Weatherman, Alysia & Carissa Gaddie, Kalli Hoevelman, and Logan & Brandon Thomas. Included in her grandchildren, was Daniel Thomas who preceded her in death. Included in her survivors are many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Shirley lived a joyful life and enjoyed camping, traveling, reading, playing bingo with friends, and spending time loving on her children and many grandchildren. She always was present in the lives of those around her. Her personality was full of laughter, sass, love, and generosity. She deeply touched the lives of those she met with her passion for life.
Shirley will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all her family, friends, and all who knew her. There will be a small graveside service for family on November 22nd, 2023, in her loving remembrance.
