Ross Eugene Southerland departed his Earthly Home of Springfield, MO to his Eternal Home April 11, 2022. He fought a brave battle with mental and terminal illness and was surrounded by his closest family at the time of his passing. Ross was born in Orange, CA January 6, 1978. He lived half of his life in Tustin, CA and the other half in Springfield, MO. He is the fourth oldest on his father’s side, and he is the second oldest on his mother’s side.
He is survived by his mother Mieu Southerland, his older sister Gail Southerland, his older brother Darien Southerland, his older sister Wanda Susan Southerland/Emanuele, his younger brother David Bowen, his younger brother Anthony Bowen, his niece Jade Emanuele, and his great nephews Jayden, Dominic, and Alexander Emanuele.
He was preceded in death by his father Solon Sabat Southerland.
Ross most enjoyed going fishing, he loved to travel to new places to see new things and go gambling once in a while. His favorite hobbies at home included building his own computers and tinkering with electronics. At family gatherings Ross loved to be the center of attention but also shy at the same time. He had one of the most caring and kindest hearts. We knew that he missed and loved his father, and now they can be together again under God’s care.
Visitation will be held Tuesday April 19, 2022 from 2:30pm to 8:30pm at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri. Funeral Mass/Service will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at 8:30pm at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 533 S. Jefferson Avenue in Springfield, Missouri, with Fr. Michael Quang Do, CRM presiding over services. Graveside Service for family only will be held at Resurrection Cemetery on Friday April 22, 2022.
