Obituary for Roger Dale Ringer

Roger Dale Ringer, age 67, was born in Carrollton on August 23, 1951. He passed away Saturday afternoon, August 3, 2019 at his home in Nixa. Esther Murray (mother) and parents Alice and George McDonald preceded him in death.

Roger attended St Mary’s Elementary school and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1969. He served his country in Vietnam and returned to Carrollton until 1998, and then relocated to Springfield Missouri to be near his sister, Paula Ringer. Roger and Paula visited nearly every weekend. Roger enjoyed cooking and was famous among friends and family for his “Ringer chili”, meatloaf and oven-baked pork chops. He played guitar, loved classic rock and was an avid reader of the local newspaper, business journal and books.

Roger is survived by his sister, Paula Ringer, (husband Ralph Plank), of Springfield; cousin Wanda (husband Lee) Starbuck of Carrollton; Dayle Ringer, daughter, of Lee Summit and Nicholas Nolke, grandson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Roger had many beloved friends and family he cared for very much.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Life Enhancement of the Ozarks for the life Roger created there with all of them. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Watching Over Whiskers, c/o Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, Springfield, MO 65806.

Visitation will be at Lohmeyer Funeral Home, Thursday, August 8, 10 – 10:45am. Funeral services will be at Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 East Walnut, August 8, 11am with the Rev Patrick Ike Nwokoye Ph.D and Rev Andrew Williams officiating. Funeral services and a private burial will be in Carrollton, MO on August 8th & 9th, 2019, under the direction of the Bittiker Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri.
