Obituary for Roger Dale Franklin

It is with great sorrow to announce the death of Roger Dale Franklin of Springfield Missouri on January 19th 2024. Roger was 63 and born on January 20th, 1960 in Bellflower California. He was born to Charles Monroe and Edna Lorain (Hovies) Franklin.

Roger loved his boys, his large family and a multitude of activities. Running touchdowns for Central High, wining championships at Pipkin Junior High, some experience with a minor football league, baseball, softball and soccer. He was an athlete, coach, referee, spectator and an avid fan of his two boys. He loved to fish at Stockton and Table Rock, as well as almost anywhere he had a chance to drop a line. He loved to find fun and unique rocks, arrowheads, and was always proud while showing and displaying his finds. His buddy Apollo gave him years of companionship and always created a scene you couldn't help but remember. Roger loved to be with his family, his friends, and enjoyed telling stories of childhood, his siblings and his mom. He loved Rock and Roll and had a variety of favorites from the 70s and 80s. Long hair, music and a take it easy approach to life gave him a kind and caring personality. He would always make you feel special. His loving and fun personality would always give you a laugh or two. Dad, Uncle Roger, Roger Dogger, Brother and Nephew were just a few of his many different roles in this life. Family reunions were very important for him, and his distant family was always on his mind. Some of his best friends were his siblings, and he always spoke of the memories they made together. Roger loved everyone.

Roger is survived by his two sons, Eric and Delaina Franklin of Republic, MO. Nicholas and Lauren Franklin of Kansas City MO, with two grandchildren Ruby and Margaret. Two surviving sisters Marion "Juanita" and Wayne Pruitt of Springfield and LouAnn and Jimmy Glancy of Nixa. Roger is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
