Rodney B. Miller, ‘Rod’, to most who knew him, passed away at age 64 at his home on October 28, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 20, 1956, in Pueblo, Colorado, he was the son of William “Bill” Arzel Miller and Willa June (Walker) Miller. He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Brenda S. (McCraw) Miller, son Christopher B. Miller, daughter Kimberly N. (Miller) Carroll, three beautiful granddaughters, Emma Grace Miller, Iris Gabrielle Carroll, Milah Charlize Carroll, and his sister Terry Lynn Miller. He was a doting husband, loving father, special father-in-law, super papaw, funny uncle, cousin, neighbor and friend to all, bringing people together.

As a child, Rod moved around the country with his entrepreneurial parents. They found a place to call home in Rogersville, Missouri.

Rod graduated from Logan-Rogersville High School in 1974, excelling in speech and public speaking. He attended Southwest Missouri State majoring in accounting. On June 19, 1976, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Brenda Sue McCraw and became the proud father of Chris and Kim.

He started working in the fiberglass industry alongside his parents, opening Custom Craft Pickup Covers. He later opened RBM Enterprises. In 1984, Rod entered the insurance field working for Prudential and taking classes through The American College for Banking and Financial Services; earning the designations of CLU, ChFC and LUTCF. He sat for the Certified Financial Planning board and became one of the first CFP’s in Springfield, Missouri.

Rod had a passion for music and in his later years, picked up his guitar and along with friends started a “garage band” where he played lead guitar, harmonica, and mandolin. In 1999, along with friends and family, Rod was a founding member the Greater Ozarks British Motoring Club (GOBMC) where he was President of the club for many years. He had a passion for British cars and restoring them. Throughout his life, Rod was involved in many organizations including the Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout); Greene County Estate Planning Council; Blue’s Society of the Ozarks; Rotary Club; Greater Ozarks British Motoring Club, Strafford Masonic Lodge #608; Unusual Attitudes Flying Club; the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association and many more.
