Obituary for Robert Lee Scott

On the 19th of August 2020, Robert Scott loving husband and father of one son, passed away at the age of 72.

Robert was born on July 26th 1948, in Charleston, South Carolina to Louise and Jack Scott.

He was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and spent his days playing sports, going to school and working. He moved to Lake Providence, Louisiana at the age of 16 where he met his beautiful wife, Martha Hankins. In 1966, he was drafted by the Army and went to war in Vietnam. He was a scout, a dog handler and ended up military police. After tours in Vietnam, he came home, got married and raise a family in Lake Providence, Louisiana and raise one son John Scott. Robert loved fishing, teaching, sports and working.

Most of all, Robert loved his family and would do anything for any of them. He spent a lot of time teaching his son sports and how to be a good man. He love working Sheriff's Department any luck being a farmer. Robert was a straight shooter right to your face kind of man and you always knew where you stood with him. He loved kids and helping Mom with her daycare business and in his later years after retirement I don't think he ever missed an LSU baseball, football or basketball game. He loved to talk to people and if you listen he had a lot of cool things to say.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Jack, his mother Louise, and his brother James. He is survived by his loving wife Martha, his son John, his sisters, Pat, Janie, Ann and Jane; his little brother Little Tommy and several uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In closing, a Graveside Service for Robert Scott will be held at the Springfield National Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri at 11 a.m. on Monday the 24th of August.
