Obituary for Robert Raymond Eimer

Robert (Bob) Eimer, 90, Springfield, passed away at 4:06 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019, at his residence.

He was born November 6, 1928, to Edward and Clara (Miller) Eimer in Wentworth, Missouri.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Norma; his son, Gary Eimer; and his sister, Pauline Schmidt.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Linda Taylor; his granddaughter, Brittany; two great grandchildren; two nephews, Tom and Charlie; a niece, Mary; and a host of friends.

Bob was a longtime, faithful parishioner of St. Agnes Cathedral. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, with his greatest passions being mowing and gardening. He took great pride in maintaining a beautiful, well manicured lawn, and was able to fix any kind of outdoor equipment. When planting his garden each year, he made sure there would be more than enough to feed his family, as well as plenty to give away to his neighbors and friends. He was known to bring a platter of sliced tomatoes with him to
the coffee shop, when meeting his buddies for breakfast. Each spring, he anxiously awaited the arrival of the Purple Martins. He was a humble, kind, honorable man who worked tirelessly to provide for his family, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2019 with Rosary services starting at 3:30 pm at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, located at: 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, MO 65806.

A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, on Monday, November 4, 2019 at St. Agnes Cathedral located at: 533 S. Jefferson, Springfield, MO 65806 with Father Lewis Hejna as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
