Rita Louise Swisher Jensen

Born May 19, 1963 in Independence, MO to George R. and Marilyn E. (Stedem) Swisher. Rita is survived by her husband, Brent Myron Jensen of 7 years (married June 4, 2011).

Rita was the youngest daughter of seven children with three brothers, Michael Paul Swisher (Mary Ann) of Lee’s Summit, MO; David Henry Swisher of Springfield, MO; Glenn Eugene Swisher (Shelly) of Broken Arrow, OK and three sisters, Clarissa Marie Craig (Art) of Olathe, KS, Tamara Catherine Kamphaus (John) of Dallas, TX and Alisa Rose Swisher of Lee’s Summit, MO. Rita was the proud Step-Mother to Casey Jensen, Aunt of Lora Swisher, Jessica Swisher, Jonathan Swisher, Herschel Keesee, Christopher Swisher, Justin Swisher, Matthew Kamphaus, Nathan Swisher and Luke Swisher and Great Aunt to four great-nephews and three great-nieces. She also leaves a number of extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rita graduated from Springfield Catholic High School in 1981. Later, she earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from OSU Technology Institute, Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Rita began her working career at Budget Rent-A-Car in Dallas, TX where her accounting expertise was recognized and was selected to join the accounting team there. Within a short time she was promoted to Senior Accountant. The majority of her career was with the RGG Law Firm from 1997 to 2014 where she worked as an Accountant/Bookkeeper and finally as the Firm Administrator. She was recognized by the partners of the firm for her hard work and dedication in 2006 with a 417 Magazine Woman of the Year Award. Her friendly nature, ability to embrace challenges presented to her, and take charge, affectionately earned her the nickname Bosslady.

Rita’s favorite past time was taking weekend trips to area lakes and casinos with her husband Brent. Occasionally their travels took them to the beach where they were visitors to the area in and around Gulf Shores, AL. Rita was grateful for her time with her husband, Brent, as they shared a special love and caring for each other.
