Obituary

PAUL STEVEN MARTIN WAS BORN IN WEST UNION, IOWA TO LACY AND MARTHA MARTIN ON JANUARY 31,1960. HE ATTENDED SCHOOL IN MISSOURI AND TEXAS. PAUL GRADUATED THROUGH AN ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IN TEXAS. HE WORKED MANY YEARS AS AN ELECTRICIAN AND TRAVELED TO MANY STATES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. HE WORKED IN TEXAS, MISSOURI, IOWA, MINNESOTA, NEW YORK AND ALSO IN ALASKA. HE WAS VERY RESPECTED IN HIS TRADE AND CONTRIBUTED QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP TO EACH PROJECT.

HE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS INFANT GIRL KATRINA, AND HIS FATHER LACY.

PAUL WAS THE FATHER TO CARLA, BETH, TINA, MATTHEW, ISSAC AND ANNIE. HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS MOTHER, MARTHA BELL MARTIN: BROTHERS, JAMES AND CARL, AND SISTER-IN LAW DEBORA. ALSO, HIS AUNT HELEN AND UNCLE DALE SHEETS, NEPHEWS GARY MARTIN, EDDIE MARTIN, AND NIECE, RACHAEL MARTIN, FORMER WIFE CONNIE. HE HAD MANY GREAT NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

HE WAS BAPTIZED AS AN INFANT. HE ACCEPTED THE LORD AS HIS SAVIOR AS AN ADULT. HE ATTENDED SUNDAY SCHOOL AND CHURCH AT CHURCHES WHEREVER HE LIVED. AT PRESENT HE HAD CALLED THE DISCOVERY CLASS AT FIRST BAPTIST OF SPRINGFIELD HIS CHURCH HOME.

PAUL LOVED TO HELP OTHERS AND WAS A VERY KINDHEARTED PERSON. RECENTLY HE STAYED AT HIS MOTHERS HOME IN SPRINGFIELD FARMS AFTER THE PASSING OF HIS FATHER, TO HELP HER AFTER LACY MARTIN PASSED AWAY IN MARCH OF 2016. PAUL ALSO HAD A LOVE FOR ANIMALS, ESPECIALLY HIS CAT TIGER, WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER.

PAUL WILL BE REMEMBERED AS A GOOD AND DECENT PERSON. HE WOULD GIVE TO OTHERS EVEN IF IT MEANT THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE SHORT LATER. HE LOVED GOD AND WILL BE CALLED TO HEAVEN WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER. HE ALWAYS MAINTAINED HIS FAITH IN GOD.


A CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 AM ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2019 AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 525 SOUTH AVENUE IN SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI WITH PASTOR MICHAEL OVERTON OFFICIATING. SERVICES WILL BE HELD IN PAUL’S SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSROOM ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE CHURCH DURING THE SUNDAY SCHOOL HOUR.
