Obituary for Patricia Ann Bailey (Dudley)

Patricia Ann (Dudley) Bailey of Springfield, MO departed from this life May 24th, 2023.

Patricia was born March 19th, 1941 to Floyd and Mertie Dudley. Patricia was the first baby born in the brand new Marshfield hospital. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and three of her siblings, Jerry Lee Dudley, Eva Bell (Dudley) Chamberlain and Joseph Floyd Dudley. Her surviving sister, Doris Lorraine (Dudley) Hunter still lives in Springfield with her family.

The family eventually moved to Springfield, where Patricia attended Central High School.

Patricia was joined in marriage to Richard Ege and to this union two children where born, Carolyn Jean Ege and Terry Lee Ege.

Patricia worked as waitress all over town. It was her outgoing spirit and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, that helped her succeed at the Sycamore Inn. She talked the boss into creating new uniforms, which she would sew at home. Eventually the restaurant was filled with Gingham dressed waitresses.

Patricia later married Charles Lee Bailey Jr. and this union produced two more children, Charles Lee Bailey III and Victoria LeAnn Bailey.

Patricia had lots of hobbies. She absolutely love to sew, crochet, take care of her plants, bake cookies, make fudge, and collect movies. She would make things for people to show that she cared about them. Throughout the Christmas season the house would smell like warm chocolate as Patricia would begin making fudge for friends and family. Everyone got fudge.

Patricia was a member of the Kansas Expressway Church of Christ, where She joined the sewing group to make Teddy Bears for kids in the Hospital. Her church family regularly visited her when she became shut in. She loved her church and her relationship with God.

Patricia is survived by her four children and their spouses; Carolyn and Irvin James, Terry and Tess Ege, Charles and Lisa Bailey, and Victoria and Gregory Kerr; her 12 grandchildren: Andre, Demetre, Monique, Jacob, Penelope, Abigail, Elizabeth, Charlise, Makai, Olivia, Trinity, and Jason; her four great grandchildren: Sage, Azariah, Alieza, and Messiah, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her Kansas Expressway Church of Christ family. She is also survived through special friends Carol Seagrave, and Gary Dalton, without them, this day would not have been possible.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut Street Springfield, MO 65806.

A Graveside Service will be at 3:00 pm, Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at Copening Cemetery near Niangua, Missouri, with Minister Ray Sullins presiding over services.
