Obituary for Patricia Anne Allgeier (Allgeier)

Tuesday, February 11, 2020, Patricia Anne Allgeier passed over from this world to the next.

We don’t even know where to begin - her life was unusual, eclectic, fascinating, bizarre…. The stuff of legends. She was a hippie, a Witch, a High Priestess, a rabble-rouser, an activist, and our mother.

Her list of accomplishments cannot be condensed into a single paragraph. Her stories cannot be told in a single session. Her contributions to the Wiccan and Pagan communities will be felt for many years, and have helped to build a solid foundation for tolerance and freedom of religion for all.

Not only did she work for religious freedom, she also worked for recognition and acceptance of the developmentally disabled. Pat dedicated her life to social work and caring for those who could not take care of themselves. She retired as a group home manager, and even after retirement, she continued to care for her former clients from time to time.

Her family hopes to continue her legacy of individualism - her brother, Dan - her children, Kate and Monte - her grandchildren, Jordan, Zack, Hannah, James, and Michael - together, we will keep her memory alive as we pursue the rights of freedom of worship, activism, and tolerance.

If you wish to honor her memory, please consider a donation to your local no-kill shelter.

That which is remembered does not die.

(On a personal note, I want to thank everyone who has helped during the past couple months. There is no way we could have brought her home and fulfilled her wishes without you.)

Thank you,

A celebration of life will be held for Patricia on February 29, 2020 at 6 p.m. at 405 N. Washington Avenue, Springfield.
