Obituary for Norman LeeVon McCollum

Norman LeeVon McCollum was born June 1, 1937, to Mary Lucille Foster McCollum and Joseph LeeVon McCollum in Topeka, Kansas. He attended Highland Park Highschool in Topeka and joined the Air Force his junior year, serving 4 years as a jet mechanic during the Korean Conflict.

Norm retired from a successful career in sales and has always dedicated his life to serving his Lord and Savior, mentoring, and encouraging many people along the path of life. No matter his situation or state of health, when asked how he was, he always responded cheerfully, "I am blessed and highly favored!" That was his constant motto. Norm graduated to Heaven on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the age of 86.

Preceding Norm in death were his parents and two brothers: Dean McCollum of Linwood, Kansas and Roger McCollum of Topeka, Kansas.

Norm is survived by his wife, Joyce, and five children, sixteen grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings: Sandy Williams, Dara Harrison, and Floyd Cloud.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Calvary Christian Assembly of God Church, 9048 W. State Highway 266 in Springfield, Missouri with Pastor Floyd McDonnell officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 E. Seminole in Springfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, Norm desired that donations be made to the building fund of the Calvary Christian Assembly of God Church (CCAG) at 9048 W. State Highway 266, Springfield, Missouri, 65802.

The family has entrusted Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri with final arrangements.
