Obituary for Norma Joyce Baurichter (Keithley)

Norma Joyce Baurichter, 88, passed peacefully from natural life to eternal life on Saturday, January 21, 2023, following a fall that left her in a weakened condition. She was being expertly and lovingly cared for at Lake Stockton Rehab and Care Center in Stockton, Missouri where she had resided following her husband’s stroke and subsequent passing in December, 2021.

Norma was born on May 3, 1934, the daughter of Albert Keithley and Alice (Keith) Keithley. She married Frederick (Fred) Henry Baurichter on January 16, 1954 and they made their home in Springfield, Missouri. She is survived by daughter Becky (Brian) Bengtson formerly of Springfield, Missouri; son Tom (Ellen) Baurichter of Le Mars, Iowa; one brother Bert Keithley of Springfield, Missouri, five sister’s: Ruth Keithley, June Baurichter, Ruby Keithley, and Mary (Eldon) Townsend all of Springfield, Missouri and Cassie Coursey of Nevada, Missouri; sister in law Ruthie (Richard) Dalstein; four grandchildren: Bethany (Marty) Faber; Eric (Linsey) Baurichter; Brad (Kalee) Bengtson; and Cody (Hallie) Baurichter; eight great grandchildren: Zoey, Claire and Jacey Faber; Logan and Everlee Bengtson; Piper, Flint and Briley Baurichter. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Baurichter; two sisters: Retha Echols and Alberta Lovejoy; two brothers: Edwin Keithley and Carl Keithley.

Norma was a friend of Jesus and made her choice early in life to serve him. Although she suffered from memory loss and heart failure, she never forgot what was the most important in her life and her heart was still full of love for Jesus, her family and friends. She often mentioned that what she missed most about her stay in the rehab and care center was missing the regular fellowship meetings. It was mentioned of her that she was always cheerful with the other residents and staff at the care center while being cared for, and she always had a smile and a thank you. She will be remembered for her love in caring for the home and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time outdoors growing red roses, watching and feeding the birds. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
