Matthew Thomas Ackfeld (Matt,Chewy) passed away in Fayetteville, Arkansas on April 24, 2023. Matt attended Springfield, MO. schools and Ozark, MO. schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 2006-2008, with a deployment to Germany. He would give his shoes to a stranger before he knew where his next meal came from. He had an incredible heart and contagious laugh. He was an artist like his mom and loyal like his dad. Matt leaves behind his children, Aubri and Nathaniel Ackfeld of Branson, MO., two special little girls, Kristen and Saylr Barnes, brother John (Jayme) Lapointe-Ackfeld and family of Springfield, MO., brother Chris (Kenya) Ackfeld and family of Springfield, MO., sister Ashley (Jeremy) Fangmann and family of Columbia, MO., dear aunt Jeanne Hale of Springfield, MO., and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Matt is joined in death with his father, Christopher Ackfeld, mother, Sarena Lapointe-Ackfeld, brother Logan Ackfeld, sister, Laura Ackfeld, and grandparents Edward and Floriana Ackfeld and Thomas and Sylvia Wilson.
Services are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Henderson Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield, MO.
